Today’s tip: Assume God is looking out for your best interest.
In life, we all know that stuff happens. How should I respond in the face of “stuff”? Should I cry out “Unfair!” or bemoan my fate? No! The more I accept that God is looking out for my best interest, the easier it is to recognize how I benefit from each trial that I face – keeping in mind that no trial is ever faced alone.
Just recently I have experienced a number of minor “learning opportunities” – trusting that God is looking out for my best interest and having that trust affirmed. Prayerfully stepping out in faith and having my faith rewarded. If we see discipline as punishment, we are forgetting that parents who love their children discipline their children. If we see accepting the consequences of our actions as punishment, we are forgetting that parents who love their children allow their children to experience consequences.
God loves us. God is looking out for our best interest. Believe it.
I’m still learning this one…still hoping…trying to trust that God’s got my back.
God must be life-long-parenting me, too. Sigh. But trusting Him is a decision that is becoming easier.
Well said, ygw.
