Keeping the faith

2 Corinthians 5:7 “We live by faith, not by sight.”

I can’t profess that my faith was great. I transplanted 4 plants that are taking over a flowerbed by the house. I put them in this pot and only one appeared to survive. Because the one was getting watered/nurtured, I was blessed with a reward – 2 of the “dead” ones are making a comeback.
Now, a word on relationships with prodigal children: I continue to water/nurture the relationship, even though there are no obvious signs of life. Daughter #3 (“C”) periodically receives cards (love notes). Now that we have an address for Daughter #1, she gets cards as well (1st one sent last week). Daughter #2 told me she saves the cards. The cards have a simple message. “We love you. You are in our thoughts. You are in our prayers.”
We have tried to be consistent with the message we gave C before she moved out: we don’t approve of your actions/decisions, but you cannot make us stop loving you.

I have faith that the peek of life we saw a few weeks ago will continue to push up toward the light.
