Almost there

No, it’s not “done” done, but it’s darn close. Unfortunately, life demands will keep us away for a few days, but our agent put the sign up in the yard and told us if he gets any calls he’ll point them our way. If we find a buyer before he lists the house on MLS (sometime next week) he’ll process the paperwork free of charge. Yay!

Flipping Junkie suggests we paper the ‘hood with flyers in order to take full advantage of that offer. Great idea!

These are not the final before/after photos, but they give you an idea of the final “look” of the house. I’ll be back with more details next week. Meanwhile, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the changes. Should we prune back the bushes more? Fix the driveway? Stage the house…??? I suspect the house will get listed with the bathroom as the only staged area.

looks good.. finish the inside…and if no takers, stage. Set goal of staging done by Nov 1. Is that bush over the front walk???? If so trim it back some more. and what about a few chrysanthemums between the bushes? Still too hot for pansies, I suppose. Jim did a good job on the painting. It looks good.

Thanks, Mom! I’m fretting over those bushes. I cut them back some. I’m going to cut them back more. The lawn is in pretty rough shape. The drought is not helping our cause!

Most of the lawns in the area are the some so I don’t think that is a big deal. I think the bushes need trimming, but they look way better than they looked before. My wife would say to put pretty, colorful flowers out front. Of course she did that at mine and they all died quickly. I can’t tell from the pic but you might Round Up the driveway to kill any plants trying to grow.
        I like the new paint!

Thanks, Vaden! Did you sell yours already? If so, it seems like it went quickly.

I did put Round Up on the driveway, but I’ll take the time to scrape away the dead weeds.

I agree about pruning the bushes. Maybe level with the front porch gate? How about a hanging plant next to the front door, maybe one with some color (flowers), or else a wind chime that is more a prayer flag mobile (so that it’s not noisy, some people don’t like that) by the front door — or just below the light fixture where the garage is, to draw the eye and the buyer!

    • Fran Hart says:

I’ll stop by the house tomorrow evening and lop some more off the bushes (although a friend suggested letting Mr. H do the work, presumably because of my horrible track record with pruning). I like your suggestion about the mobile or soft chimes. And flowers. This horrible drought we’re experiencing has been brutal, but at least we seem to be past the worst of the heat. I appreciate your input!
